Here we introduce the types of pearls we mainly handle.

Akoya pearl

A deep glow that lusters from the depths layer of the pearl.

What is commonly called Akoya pearls are cultured pearl in Japan. It has a long history, more than 100 years after the start of cultured pearl farming. The size of pearls is about 2mm to 10mm or more.

The greatest feature of Akoya pearls is their luster. Not the surface luster, the deep glow that lusters from the depths layer of the pearl. This is called the overtone and the iridescent glow created by the layer of pearl.
Regardless of the size, they have round shape, no spots, thick layer of pearl, and good luster pears are called "Hanadama" and are said to account for less than 5% of the total production.

It goes well the skin color of Asian people and it has become a necessary item for ceremonial occasion. However, recently it has been attracting attention as a fashion item such as long necklace and earrings. Perfect pearls are very rare and precious.

Akoya pearl’s sizes of 5mm or less are highly rare due to a decrease in production in recent years. The small size of Akoya pearls are also called "Baby Akoya", and it is also characterized by its cuteness that mainly large size of South sea pearl ( Black Pearl ) cannot be obtained.

Fashionable and unique

There are two types of white butterfly shells, silver lip and gold lip.
Primarily silver lip is cultured in northern Australia. It’s famous for producing large, white pearls. Gold lip is cultured in Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar, Amami Oshima in Japan. Its characteristics are golden and glossy pearls.

Golden pearl is very fashionable and unique looks because of their distinctive color.

Since the aquaculture period is about 2years, the layer of the pearl is thick and it has a deeper shine than akoya pearl.

Rich color variations

The main production areas are Micronesia, Polynesia and the Cook Islands. 95% of the total production is aquaculture in Tahiti. Based on the place name, it is also called "Black pearl"="Tahiti".

The characteristic of black pearls is their color variation. Green, Red, Gray, Brown ...etc.. Even if roughly divided, it has 14 kinds of colors.

"Peacock Green", which is likened to the color of peacock feathers, is considered to be the finest color and has a mysterious brilliance and rarity.

Rare pink natural pearls

It is natural pearl produced from the pink shell that lives in Caribbean Sea. It is difficult to culture pearls because of snails. And only one piece is produced in 10,000 shells, which is a rare pearl. Its appeal is its pottery-like texture, gushing fire flame pattern, and elegant pink color.

Few fire flame patterns are clearly visible to the naked eye, making them even more rare.

In addition, because of the danger of extinction due to overfishing, it is regulated by the Washington Convention. Its value is further increasing.
